ABOUT ESMEE EMMA THOMAS
(P.S. This name is an author pseudonym)
The Process
Esmee is a registered clinical psychologist and author whose recent writing spans both fiction and non-fiction.
Her childhood and adolescence in Australia was shaped by poverty, trauma, and domestic violence. Despite these challenges, she discovered a refuge in the world of books and storytelling.
Her interest in writing became a passion when she won Book Week, New South Wales, at the age of five, with “My Magic Seeds”, a feel-good fantasy story that led to an article in the local newspaper. Her love of reading and writing was supported and encouraged by her beloved late grandmother (Esmee Emma Thomas) to whom she remains eternally grateful.
In her fifties, Esmee embraced her love of gardening and ventured into world travel, broadening her perspective with diverse cultures. Her keen sense of humour and passion for great stories has led her to craft a new series of engaging, fast-paced mysteries that are a fun and enjoyable read, under her pseudonym, Esmee Emma Thomas.
As a wife, mother, grandmother (and now great-grandmother), her personal journey of triumphs and missteps informs both her professional practice and storytelling.
Currently living in Montreal with her husband, Esmee’s work and life reflects her dedication to understanding, compassion, healing, and growth (and her enduring love of a good yarn).
